RANI KI VAV-PATAN GUJARAT
The Rani ki vav built in the 11th century when patan was the capital of the solanki rules. the magnificent seven storey’s stepwell is said to have been built by Rani udaimati, The Queen of Bhimdev-1 of the solanki dynasty

The architectural brilliance and elegance of the vav is represented in its pristine glory in the ornamental work. The beautiful proportioned sculptures of gracefully carved mahisasurmardini, shiv-parvati, dashavatar of Vishnu, ganesh, kuber ndother forms adorn the walls.
This stepwell was buried for centuries, Archaeological survey of India started excavation in 1958 and exposed the hidden treasures In 1967. now its aworld heritage site.
PATAN is also famous for its hand weavened PATOLA saris.
